Monday Blues: chrome stamping

I haven't posted a mani on Monday Blues for far too long. Here are nails I did the other day for blue Friday flashmob on Instagram, so they're pretty appropriate. I started with 2 coats of Nubar Boyfriend Jeans, which is a dusty medium blue thin creme, applied a coat of fast dry top coat to speed up the drying process, and when the base color was try, stamped over it with Kiko 623 (blue one coater chrome) and Bundle Monster BM-210 stamping plate. I finished the mani with another coat of top coat in light strokes to prevent smudging.

Давно я не участвовала в синих понедельниках, так что исправляюсь. Вообще, этот маникюр я делала для синей пятницы - флешмоба в Инстаграме, так что тема, можно сказать, одна. Сначала я нанесла 2 слоя Nubar Boyfriend Jeans, который представляет собой пыльный джинсовый жидкий крем, а сверху - слой топа-сушки, чтобы поверхность быстрее высохла. Стемпинг я сделала с помощью лака Kiko 623 (синий хром-однослойник) и диска для стемпинга Bundle Monster BM-210. И, наконец, закрепила маникюр еще одним слоем сушки, нанося ее легкими движениями, чтобы ничего не смазать.

Monday Blues: Shimmer Polish Jennifer

The blue mani of this Monday is a lovely combo of a creme by Dance Legend that, sadly, bears no name rather that number 415, and another stunning glitter bomb by Shimmer Polish. 

Синий маникюр этого понедельника - это сочетание крема Dance Legend, который, к сожалению, не имеет другого названия, кроме порядкового номера 415, и еще одна глиттерная бомба от Shimmer Polish. 

Dance Legend 415 is a dusty lighter blue creme in the same vein as Anny Blue Fashion Show. It's very pigmented and opaque after only 1 coat - a winner in my books and a perfect undie for glitter polishes. 

Dance Legend 415 - пыльный темно-голубой крем из разряда Anny Blue Fashion Show. Лак очень пигментированный, абсолютно непрозрачной поверхности я достигла уже после одного слоя. Лак - отличник и прекрасная подложка под глиттеры. 

Shimmer Polish Jennifer is a mix of pastel lime, yellow, blue, blueish green and copper hexes of varying sizes, blue and lavender little squares and multicolored tiny square shimmer in a clear base, long story short - it's complex and requires photos. My version, which I received in April, does not bear black hex glitter, however, Mihaela's of Lacquer Buzz, who's also rocking Jennifer this Monday, does, so keep in mind there may be batch differences like this if you decide to order Jennifer :) This pretty can be worn, I dare say, over any color, due to the fact there's such an array of various glitter in the formula. Which is, as usual when it comes to Shimmers, awesome and provides you with your glitter mix after one coat (on my ring and middle fingers) while allowing to be used in a glitter gradient (on the rest). Apparently this lady is on a topcoat diet, so 1 coat of thickened Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat pretty much did it. 

Shimmer Polish Jennifer - это микс пастельно-лаймового, желтого, синего, сине-зеленого и бронзового шестиугольного глиттера разных размеров, синих и лавандовых маленьких квадратиков и многоцветного мелкого квадратного шиммера, все в прозрачной базе. Короче - сочетание глиттера сложное и требует фотографий. Моя версия Jennifer, которую я получила в апреле, не содержит черных шестиугольников, однако в том же лаке, присланном Михаэле, автору блога Lacquer Buzz, он есть, так что заказывая, имейте в виду, что сочетание глиттера может быть разным. В качестве подложки для этого лака, я считаю, может выступать любой цвет, потому как цветов глиттера очень много, и гармонию найти можно будет всегда. Формула, как всегда, на высоте, одного слоя для достаточного количества глиттера на ногтях достаточно, при этом он легко позволяет использовать себя для глиттерных растяжек. Ну и топа требует лишь один слой, в моем случае - подзагустевшего Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.

Monday Blues: OPI I Have A Herring Problem

This Monday's blue is a well known polish, OPI I Have A Herring Problem from Spring 2012 Holland collection, a greyish dusty blue cream with golden shimmer running through, visible enough but still quite subtle. Depending on your skintone it may lean more blue or grey, so keep in mind it can look different on you than on my swatches. I've read on blogs that it usually takes 3 coats to reach full opacity, however, I managed to get away with 2 plus a coat of topcoat.

Подтон кожи может подчеркивать либо серую, либо голубую составляющую оттенка, так что помните, что на вас лак может выглядеть по-другому, нежели на моих фото. В блогах я обычно читала, что он требует 3 слоев для непрозрачного покрытия, но я управилась в 2, плюс слой топа. 

Monday Blues: Layla Metallic Sky

So I should have returned to blogging nearly a week ago, just as I passed all exams, but just as I started putting together a post my wifi software went crazy, and for some reason the wifi adapter shut down. Under no circumstances would my poor laptop turn back on, and it took me a week to finally figure out where I could switch it on manually, still I'm not skipping this week's Monday Blues and I'd thought I'd have to. 

Я должна была вернуться еще неделю назад, как только сдала все экзамены, но только я начала писать пост, как решил вырубиться вай-фай приемник на моем ноутбуке, и обратно включаться он никак не желал. Неделю спустя я нашла, как его включить вручную, и вот я, наконец, здесь, и даже не пропускаю Monday Blues этой недели, хотя думала, что опять придется. 

The blue polish of the week is Layla Metallic Sky, a medium (pre-magnet) to dark ocean blue metallic magnetic polish. I know probably everyone have already played with them and have had enough of them, but I'm always late to the party, aren't I? The diagonal lines pattern has always been my favorite and that's what I went for in my mani (lucky me that that's the default magnet you get on top of Layla magnetic polish). Layla probably has one of the strongest magnetic effect, so I didn't have much problem with the pattern to show up, but what was a pain in the ass is to get the tilt degree of the lines even on all of my fingers. The polish is opaque in 1 coat (some of my nails ), but the drying power is less than average, also I forgot that top coat smudges the magnetic effect, which resulted into those streaks visible on the photos. 

Синий этой недели - Layla Metallic Sky, в "домагнитном" состоянии - средний, после магнита - темно-синий магнитный металлик. С магнитными лаками, по-моему, наигрались уже все, ну а я, как всегда, медленный газ :) Из всего многообразия узоров больше всего мне всегда нравились простые прямые линии, расположенные под углом, стандартный магнит Layla именно такой. Магнитный эффект у Layla, как пишут, один из самых сильных, так что проблем с перенесением узора на ногти были, гораздо сложнее было расположить магнит с одинаковым наклоном над всеми ногтями. Лак плотный, одного слоя хватает для идеального покрытия, но вот большой скоростью высыхания он не отличается, а я забыла, что топ имеет гадкое свойство смазывать магнитный узор, что и вылилось в продольные полосы, которые видны и на фото. 

Monday Blues: A-england Galahad

For this week's Monday Blues i have a solid cream I've already shown here, but I don't like the quality of the photos now, and I was wearing the color again anyway, so I decided to reswatch. Here's ONE coat of A-england Galahad without top coat. Just stop and stare, this polish is perfection. 

Синий маникюр этой недели представлен лаком, который я уже показывала здесь, но качество фотографий меня не устраивает, и все равно я снова одевала этот лак, так что было решено его переснять. На фотографиях 1 слой A-england Galahad без топа. Сказать нечего, лак этот - совершенство. 

Monday Blues: Gzhel

Today's blue mani was inspired by a type of traditional Russian craft, Gzhel. Its most recongizable trait is the iconic painting technique that uses only 2 colors, white and blue. Read more info about it here, that would make more sense than me, since I'm no Arts student :) 

Давно уже хотела сделать маникюр по мотивам техники росписи под гжель. И вот наконец задумку исполнила :)

The blue is 2 coats of China Glaze Man Hunt, the white is Sally Hansen White On (2 coats, too), and I stamped over with Man Hun and Bundle Moster BM-221 stamping plate. 

В маникюре я использовала 2 слоя China Glaze Man Hunt, в качестве белой подложки под стемпинг - Sally Hansen White On в 2 слоя, а сам стемпинг сделан при участии Man Hunt и диска для стемпинга Bundle Monster BM-221. 

Monday Blues: Anny Midtown Skyline & Shimmer Marie

I'm finally back to Monday Blues, among the rest, and this week I'm actually showing you the mani I did for last week's MB, but life cut in, and I couldn't share it with you until Widnesday, when it wouldn't have made much sense besides being a blue mani. 

Наконец-то я снова участвую в Monday Blues, мой маникюр на сегодня я вообще-то готовила для прошедшей недели, но потом жизнь порушила все мои планы, и до блога я добралась лишь к среде, а тогда уже смысла не имело его показывать, так что я маникюр захомячила до этого понедельника :)

The base color is 2 coats of Anny Midtown Skyline, which is a tiiiny bit more green and dusty dupe to OPI Can't Find My Czechbook (I have both of them and I have a really hard time telling them apart even on my nails). Personally I prefer the formula of the OPI - it's a bit thinner than the Anny, but still perfectly opaque after 2 coats, even on my longer nails (which still look like nubs to most people, but I know the truth :D) - so I'm actually selling MS and keeping CFMC. 

В качестве подложки выступает Anny Midtown Skyline, нанесенный в 2 слоя, чуточку более зеленый и припыленный двойник OPI Can't Find My Czechbook (у меня есть они оба, и даже на ногтях я их еле различаю). Формула OPI мне, честно говоря, нравится больше - он пожиже, но в 2 слоя все равно дает полностью непрозрачное покрытие - так что Anny отправилась в пристрой, а OPI укоренился в Хельмере. 

The turquoise blue is spiced up with Shimmer Marie. Marie is a mix of sky blue and aqua blue hex glitter in a variety of sizes, smaller and larger squares, and microglitter. Maybe there's something else I'm missing out, but, as per usual, there' a macro shot at the end of the post for your viewing pleasure :) Super blingy, dense enough to achieve opaque surface in 2-3 coats (see ring and middle fingers) and just as suitable for glitter gradients (see my pinky, pointer and thumb). Like most glitter, it dries in a snap. Unlike many glitters, it is not a top coat eater at all, 1 coat of a thicker one, like Seche Vite or Cult Nails Wicked Fast, will do the job just fine. I seriously can't name one favorite Shimmer (ok, it's got to be Julie, because it's a namesake polish, but objectively, I can't) - they're stunners and won't let your mani stay unnoticed!

Эта голубая бирюза приправлена Shimmer Marie. Marie - это микс глиттера двух оттенков голубого в 2 формах - шестиугольной и квадратной - и множестве размеров. Может, там есть что-то еще, что я упускаю, но, как всегда, в конце поста вас ждет макрофото для зависания :) Лак  сверкучий, концентрация глиттера достаточная, чтобы в 2-3 слоя создавать непрозрачное покрытие, и в то же время оптимальна для того, чтобы с помощью лака можно было создавать глиттерные растяжки/градиенты. Как и многие глиттеры, сохнет быстро, но в отличие от многих глиттеров, топа много не кушает. Одного слоя из тех, что потолще, вроде Seche Vite или Cult Nails Wicked Fast, вполне хватает, чтобы выравнять все неровности, созданные глиттером. Выделить любимый Shimmer оказывается сложной задачей - они все крутые! (Нет, мой фаворит, конечно, Julie, но это чисто из-за имени))) И уверяю вас, такие ногти незамеченными не остаются - проверено на себе, замечают даже абсолютно безразличные к маникюру знакомые мужчины.

Monday Blues: Silver Unicorn

This week's installment of Monday Blues features China Glaze First Mate, a classic navy blue creme that was among the first polishes I ordered when I started my nail polish collection, and I only got around to wear it now, what a shame! Formula was fine overall. It's quite fast-drying, which means you don't have much time to perfect your cuticle line without letting patches appear. They're easily masked away with the second coat, though. It's also a bit thin (which doesn't mean unpigmented), so you risk flooding your cuticles if you, like me, choose to leave as few space between your polish surface and your cutes, and you are sometimes prone to making careless moves. Nothing that a drop of remover and a brush cannot fix. The result is, though, smooth and glossy surface, so those of you ladies, who prefer their mani without top coat, are going to love it. I, on the other hand, can't live without my fast dry top coats, plus I had some nail art ahead of me, so I added a coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri fast dry top coat. Then I took Zoya Trixie and used it to stamp on various images from the Nailz Craze NC02 "Magical" Stamping Plate, waited for the prints to dry and finish everything off with another coat of the SH top coat.
Синий маникюр этой недели представлен лаком China Glaze First Mate, классическим темно-синим кремом, который был заказан одним из первых, когда я только начинала свои похождения лакоманьяка, то есть уже больше года назад, а добралась до него только сейчас! Консистенция довольно приятная в целом. Лак довольно быстро сохнет, то есть долго выводить полукруг у кутикулы не позволяет - чревато плешами, которые, впрочем, идеально маскируются вторым слоем лака. First Mate также имеет тенденцию слегка затекать под кутикулу, если вы, как я, стараетесь минимизировать расстояние между ней и покрытием. Но ничего криминального,с чем бы не справилась капля жидкости для снятия лака и кисточка. Зато результатом является ровное и очень блестящее покрытие, так что любительницы носить лаки без топа этот "чайник" оценят. Я без топа не живу, да и впереди был нейл-арт, так что сверху был нанесен слой топа-сушки Sally Hansen Insta-Dri. После этого я взяла Zoya Trixie и использовала ее в качестве лака для стемпинга изображений с диска Nailz Craze NC02 "Magical". Дождавшись полного высыхания нанесенных отпечатков, я закрепила маникюр еще одним слоем топа.

Monday Blues: Cult Nails Princess & Hare Polish Married To The Monarchy

This week's blue mani is a wonderful, slightly dusty baby blue creme shade with rosy-gold subtle shimmer running through by Cult Nails, namely Princess. The most appropriate name ever, it immediately makes me think of Cinderella (probably because of her Disney blue ball gown, or maybe it's because this Princess is just as beautiful while modest and a bit shy). Two easiest coats for full opacity here. And since now I have a heckload of pretty indie glitter toppers, accent nails manicures are all I'm wearing these days, and this one is no exception, so on my middle and ring finger you can see Princess topped with a coat of Hare Polish Married To The Monarchy, which is a mix of square (squeee!!) and hex red and aqua blue glitter in a variety of sizes, with iridescent silver shimmer/flecks in a clear base. See the marco shot for details :P (can you tell I'm diggind those macro shots? :D)
 Синий маникюр этой недели состоит из двух красавчиков. Один из них - чуть пыльный пастельно-голубой крем с розовато-золотистым ненавязчивым шиммером от Cult Nails, зовется он Princess, и название ему подходит на 100%. У меня сразу ассоциация с Золушкой, возможно, из-за голубого бального платья ее диснеевской версии, а может, потому что лак такой же красивый при своей скромности и даже немного застенчивости. Красится, можно сказать, сам, сохнет быстро, для полной непрозрачности надо 2 тонких слоя, думаю, можно и в один управиться при желании, при этом лак не замазка совершенно. Ну а поскольку у меня теперь есть туева хуча инди-глиттеров, двухцветные и акцентные маникюры я не снимаю вообще. Здесь на среднем и безымянном пальцах - слой Hare Polish Married To The Monarchy, в котором мы найдем полупрозрачный серебристый шиммер (или это мелкая слюда?) и красный и цвета морской волны глиттер разного размера и двух видов: шестиугольный и квадратный (уиии ^_^). Детали, как всегда, рассматриваем на макро :)

Monday Blues: OPI Fly & Shimmer Julie

All i want to use these days are bright colors, glitter and different finishes. Which is right on time, because I've recently received a package from Shimmer Polish with whopping 10 bottles of nail polish to review! I swear to you, they're all so beautiful I could wear only them for the rest of my life. :D

В последнее время в маникюре мне хочется ярких цветов, глиттера и интересных текстур. Как раз вовремя мне пришли на обзор неописуемой красоты американские инди-лаки Shimmer в количестве аж 10 штук! Клянусь, я могла бы ходить только в них до конца жизни :D

Today's blue is OPI Fly, which is actually a well-balanced vivid aqua crelly. It does have a fair amount of green in it, but it's still more blue than green on me, so, I guess, it qualifies :P 2 non-hassle coats here. I've got to warn you, it's a stainer, but it's so beautiful I don't care much, and my nails are under polish all the time anyway. Also, if you see it, grab it while you can, you'll decide if you need it later, because the evil people working with OPI have discontinued this beauty. 

Сегодняшний синий - это OPI Fly, сбалансированная яркая бирюза текстуры крем-желе. Зеленого в ней много, но на мне она все же более синяя, чем зеленая, так что считается :) на фото 2 беспроблемных слоя. Должна предупредить, что Fly окрашивает ногтевую пластину даже через базовый слой, но честно, я не парюсь, он слишком красив, да и голые ногти я уже год не ношу. Если увидите его, советую брать, особо не раздумывая, нужен ли он вам, решите потом: лак-то снятость, в OPI работают злые люди. 

But the real star of this manicure is, no doubt, Shimmer Julie. Anyone surprised by the fact I started swatching Shimmers with the samesake one (I still don't know if the creator included it intentionally or it was a happy coincidence :) )? Anyway, Julie is a glitterbomb and a stunner. There's silver, gold, aqua, red, copper and many other types of hex glitter of different sizes. I suggest that you just contemplate the macro photo for a couple of minutes, because words cannot describe it. The polish is very versatile, which is actually characteristic of all Shimmer polishes, so I did both accent fingers (2 coats with help) and glitter gradients with it, and that's how I'm going to show Shimmers to you. The glitter dries quite fast, it is a bit of a top coat eater (but name me a glitter that is not one), and removal using the foil method or a PVA-glue-based (also known as peel-off) basecoat should ensure it not to be a pain in the ass :) 

Но звезда этого маникюра, без сомнения. Shimmer Julie. Кто-то удивился, что обзоры я начала с лака-тезки (до сих пор не знаю, специально ли создательница бренда включила его в посылку или это просто приятное совпадение)? :) Julie - это потрясающая глиттерная бомба. Это шестиугольный глиттер разных размеров и цветов: серебряного, золотого, медного, красного, синего...В общем, предлагаю пару минут помедитировать на макро-фото, потому что словами это передать невозможно. Лак этот, как и другие Shimmer, можно использовать по-разному, поэтому я и соединила в одном маникюре 2 акцентных пальца, полностью покрытых глиттером (на фото по 2 слоя с подмазками), и глиттерные растяжки. Именно так я и в дальнейшем буду показывать Shimmerы. Сохнет он, как и большинство глиттеров, быстро, любит покушать топ (но назовите мне хоть один глиттер, который этого не делает), а снятие маникюра не станет большой проблемой, если использовать метод снятия лака при помощи фольги или же воспользоваться базой, основанной на клее ПВА (также известная как peel-off base) :)
