Just Keep Swimming

I'm going to keep this post rather short. I'd intented to post my Darling Diva Polish swatches in the coming 3 days, however, I just had to post this today. As many of you probably know, a wonderful 13-year-old beauty blogger Talia passed away on Tuesday, ending her battle with cancer she led since she was 7. Bloggers all over the world unite today and honor her memory by sharing mint nails - the color of the last manicure she posted on Instagram. I have no words to express just how sad this all is. She had a full life ahead of her, so many things to learn and do, so much time to spend with her loved ones. Since I belive i reincarnation, I sincerely wish that her next life would be full of joy and happiness, and that she wouldn't have to suffer a bit of what her soul has already endured. 

Много писать здесь не буду. Изначально планировалось, что следующие 3 дня я буду показывать свотчи Darling Diva Polish, но потом все отошло на второй план. Во вторник стало известно, что боровшаяся с 7 лет с раком юная бьюти-блоггер Талия отошла в мир иной. Ей было всего 13. Дабы почтить ее память, блоггеры всего мира сегодня публикуют мятные маникюры - именно такого цвета были ногти на последней фотографии, которую Талия выложила в свой инстаграм. Слов, чтобы описать, как это все грустно, у меня нет. Всего 13, вся жизнь впереди, столько всего еще надо узнать и сделать, столько времени провести с любимыми..Я верю в реинкарнацию, поэтому от всей души желаю, чтобы следующая ее жизнь была наполнена счастьем, радостью, чтобы ей не пришлось перенести и толики того, что она выдержала в этой жизни. 

First I painted on 2 coats of Zoya Neely, waited for it to fully dry, isolated areas of nail surface with striping tape, then painted over with Zoya Vespa, and, finally, while it was still wet, removed the striping tape in reverse order to get crisper lines. I sealed the look with a coat of Eva Glass Shine topcoat.

Про маникюр совсем немного, если кому интересно. Здесь 2 слоя Zoya Neely, я дождалась, пока поверхность полностью высохнет, затем изолировала части покрытия лентой для нейл-арта, поверх нанесла слой Zoya Vespa и сразу же сняла с ногтя ленту в обратном порядке, чтобы линии получились более четкими. Сверху все покрыла слоем сушки Eva Glass Shine.

Here's my yesterday's mani dedicated to the team I've been a dedicated supporter of since 2006, the year I first showed interest in football, from the city I would gladly agree to live in. The team has had its ups and downs, it has faced worship and hate of thousands of football fans all around the world. Last two years were deafening: they were this close to winning Champions League, yet victory kept slipping through their fingers. Finally, Bayern Munchen holds it. And althought they certainly could have played better yesterday, they deserve it like no one else. 

Хочу показать свой вчерашний маникюр, посвященный команде, за которую я болею с 2006 года (год, когда начала интересоваться футболом), из города, в котором я с радостью бы жила. У команды были взлеты и падения, она сталкивалась с обожанием и ненавистью футбольных фанатов всего мира (со вчерашних слов комментатора, против нее болели фанаты всех команд Бундеслиги)) так это или нет, но я видела несколько опросов Вконтакте на тему "за кого вы сегодня", и Боруссия имела преимущество где-то в 2 раза). 2 последних года были оглушающими - 2 раза команда подходила вплотную к победе в Лиге Чемпионов, но она ускользала сквозь пальцы. Наконец, она в руках Баварии. И хотя вчера, я знаю, они могли играть лучше, больше них ее не заслужил никто. 

The red is Nails Inc. St James (2 coats), the white is Sally Hansen White On (2 coats), the blue is Brooklin 29, stamped with Bundle Monster BM-319 stamping plate. The stripes are golden striping tape from Born Pretty Store, and the number 31 (Schweinsteiger's number) was freehanded with a gold gel pen. I sealed the mani with a coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast, which made everything nice and smooth, however, when I started applying it on my ring finger, right after doing so with my pinkie, remnants of red lacquer, which apparently were left on the brush, ended up on my nails, so I used Seche Vite on my ring fingers instead, but I couldn't do anything about the little spot of red. It's not that visible, so I let it be, please excuse its presence on the photos.

Красный - Nails Inc. St James, белый - Sally Hansen White On, оба в 2 слоя, синий - бюджетный Brooklin 29, для стемпинга использован диск Bumdle Monster BM-319. Золотые полосы сделаны с помощью золотой ленты для нейл-арта, ну а 31, номер Швайнштайгера, я нарисовала от руки золотой гелевой ручкой :) Весь маникюр я закрепила слоем топа Cult Nails Wicked Fast, который сгладил неизбежно появившиеся неровности, но ногда я начала наносить его на безымянный палец, остатки красного лака попали с кисточки на ноготь, так что я тут же отложила его, использовав на остальные красные ногти, а для безымянных использовала Seche Vite, хотя пятнышко он, конечно, не убрал. Но в глаза это не сильно бросается, так что я решила, что пусть живет. За присутствие его на фотографиях извиняюсь :)

Sadly, I'll have to part with it today, since my boyfriend stood with the supporters of Borussia Dortmund, and he's upset enough that Bayern's won, and while that won't stop me from mocking him tomorrow (he would do the same thing, had Borussia won, anyway :P), I'm going to spare his nerves here :D Still wearing red, white and gold tomorrow, though!

К сожалению, с маникюром своим я сегодня расстаюсь, потому что молодой человек у меня вчера вдруг решил болеть за Боруссию, так что ему, в принципе, победы Баварии хватило. И хотя от подколов его это завтра не спасет (а что, он бы то же самое делал, если бы Боруссия вчера выиграла >)), здесь я его нервы пощажу. А приду в красно-бело-золотом :D

A fashion inspired manicure

I'd like to start by doing a small roundup of all giveaways I know of and am participating in. Начну я с небольшого обзора giveaways, которые проходят сейчас во многих блогах. Итак, Captivating Claws разыгрывает 3 сета лаков, Wish Nail Polish - бутылек El Corazon, Анна Горелова - тоже их, но много, а Painting The World целых 2 Deborah Lippmann!

Now onto the actual post. I've entered Wacky Laki's contest, the task was to create a fashion-inspired manicure. I scanned spring 2013 trends and picked the seafoam green one (like if you had doubts :D). Namely, I drew inspiration from the skirt the second model from the right is wearing on the picture below.

Теперь к самому посту. Я участвую в конкурсе Wacky Laki, заданием которого было создать маникюр, вдохновленный модой. Я изучила тренды будущей весны и остановилась на (кто бы сомневался :)) цветовом: зеленая мята снова в моде, ура! В частности, я вдохновилась юбкой второй модели справа. 

As you may have guessed, my undie for the nail art is Cult Nails Manipulative, previously reviewed here. I used quite a lot of striping tape and Chanel Particuliere for the brown stripes. I let it all dry and finished off with a coat of INM OTD (had to be really careful with that, because it's prone to smudging your pretty nail art due to its being thin). You can see the result below. I'm quite fond of the color combination and the overall look, although I fear the look is not comlex enough to win (yes, I am ambitious and I don't think there's anything wrong with that :) Ambitions make us grow, to my mind), and I'm more than sure that many mani gurus are taking part, but when I come to think of all the wonderful manis we're about to see, every else thought seems to vanish :)

Как вы наверняка догадались, базовым цветом выступил Cult Nails Manipulative, который я показывала и о котором рассказывала здесь. Я использовала приличное количество striping tape (мамочки, как это перевести-то? Клейкая лента для маникюра? %)) и Chanel Particuliere. Когда все высохло, я покрыла маникюр слоем INM OTD, и здесь надо быть очень осторожной, поскольку, из-за своей жидкости и тонкости, этот топ так и норовит смазать нейл-арт, особенно если он красивый :D Маникюр мне нравится как в целом, так и своим цветовым сочетанием в особенности, хотя я боюсь, что он недостаточно сложен, чтобы победить (да, я достаточно амбициозна, не считаю, что это плохо :) Считаю, что амбиции - тот фактор, который заставляет нас расти и совершенствоваться). Я больше чем уверена, что в этом конкурсе примут участие многие гуру маникюра, и на победу надеюсь лишь мечтой оптимиста, но как подумаю о том, сколько мы увидим красивейших маникюров..ух, аж дух захватывает, и чуть рифмой не заговорила :)

The Lazy 15! Where I'm from

Today we're supposed to do nails inspired by where we are from. I was born and live in Moscow, Russia, as you may know. So i could do a straight Russian tricolor - except for I didn't really want to. Firstly, because many other countries' flags are in the same color scheme and they can be easily confused, and, secondly, I don't really like where my country is going. It's not my intention to go deep into politics or history, so let me limit my explanation to saying that it's been my strong belief for a long time that Russia has been doomed since 1917, when the monarchy was overthrown. Was it possible, I would have loved to live in the 19th century, under the reign of Alexander II. 

Сегодняшняя тема - откуда мы родом. Как вы можете знать, я родилась и живу в Москве. Так что я могла сделать простой российский триколор, но я, честно говоря, не очень хотела. Во-первых, наш флаг можно легко спутать с другими - цветовая гамма крайне популярная, а во-вторых, в виду моего отношения касательно положения дел в стране на данный момент. Не хочу углубляться в блоге ни в историю, ни в политику, но я уже довольно давно считаю, что страна наша обречена с самого 1917 года. Если бы было можно выбрать, в каком времени жить, я бы выбрала период царствования Александра II.

So on my ring finger is a so-called imperial flag, which was the flag of the Russian Empire from 1858 till 1883(1896), but only official authorities could use it - private individuals had the white-blue-red flag everyone knows as the Russian flag. The imperial flag, however, has become the symbol of the Russian Empire to modern people. As for the rest of my nails, I was inspired by the Russian hussar uniform, particularily that of the Alexandria regiment.

На ногте безымянного пальца изображен так называемый "Имперский флаг", официальный флаг Российской Империи с 1858 по 1883(1896) год, использовавшийся правительственными учреждениями. Дизайн остальных ногтей был вдохновлен униформой Александрийского гусарского полка. 

For the manicure I used a plain black creme (my usual Sophin Ceramic 02), Zoya Creamy, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On and a silver line chain from Born Pretty Store. Everything was sealed with INM OTD. 

В маникюре принимали участие Sophin Ceramic 02, Zoya Creamy, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On, а также серебряная цепочка для нейл-арта из Born Pretty Store. Вся конструкция была щедро залита INM OTD.

Color Club Sweetpea & The Sunday Nail Battle: DIY Sticky with Orly You're Blushing

Hi everyone :) Today I'd like to show to you my NOTD with a twist.

So first I decided to paint my nails with Color Club Sweetpea. It's a lovely warm based violet cream that paints inself. No kidding, i have a really unsteady hand (nerves+too much coffee), but I don't remember it tremble so severely it dod today. Still, I ended up with an even look without any nasty gaps in just 2 coats! Now I know my go-to polish if I even need to paint my nails while being drunk :D

What you're looking at are 1 basecoat coat (a Russian one, Smart Enamel 3 in 1), 2 coats of Color Club Sweetpea and 1 coat my usual topcoat that is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri No Chip top coat.

So I finished painting my nails and I was quite satisfied with the result...until I got a notification saying that Pshiiit'd updated with a new post. That was an entry to The Sunday Nail Battle: DIY Sticky hosted by Tartinesetmoi and 10tubes. Of course I just had to participate xD I've chosen Orly You're Blushing as my tape color. You can see the result below.
