Fridails: Insprired by Tutorial

I don't know whether I'll be able to participate in Fridails the following 3 weeks, as exams are approaching and I'm taking the first one on Monday, June 2nd, so I just couldn't miss this week, especially since it was time for another prompt I was really looking forward to!

This week, we're doing nails inspired by a tutorial. I must have mentioned several times here on the blog that I have a folder called "Nailspirations", where I collect pictures and iPhone screencapses of nails I liked so much I wanted to rereated them. A decent part of those nails are by Lucy of Lucy's Stash, who is an immense source of inspiration for me as a nail artist and blogger. And she also does tutorials for her most famous looks! Thus, choosing a nail artist was a no-brainer for me, and the technique I settled on was a spiral dotticure. 

Я не знаю, смогу ли участвовать в Fridails в следующие три недели, поскольку ж..сессия к нам приходит, первый экзамен уже в понедельник, и такой сложной сессии у нас еще не было. Ох, найти бы сейчас того человека, который убеждал меня, что самые сложные курсы - это первые 2... В общем, эту неделю я не могла пропустить ни за что, тем более, что по плану была еще одна тема, которую я очень ждала.

На этой неделе заданием было сделать маникюр, источником которого послужил бы туториал. Я наверняка уже несколько раз упоминала в блоге, что у меня есть папочка с фотографиями и скринами понравившихся маникюров, которые я бы хотела повторить, и приличную долю изображений составляют дизайны авторства Люси, владелицы блога Lucy's Stash. Люси для меня - постоянный пример для подражания и как блогер, и как художник. А еще она записывает уроки, как повторить самые известные ее творения. Так что выбора, кем вдохновляться, у меня особо не стояло, а технику я в итоге выбрала spiral dotticure - то есть узор, выполненный доттером, в форме спирали. 

Fridails: Inspired By Fashion

Here's my manicure for yesterday's Fridails. Our task this week was to create an inspired by fashion nail art, learn how I did these and see my souce of inspiration as well as more photos under the cut!

Fridails: Polka Dot

It's Fridails time again! And today we're doing polka dot, with an additional requirement that there is a combination of glossy and matte finish. Luckily for me, sands and suedes were considered matte too, so I had more room for imagination. 

И снова время Fridails! Сегодня наша тема - узор в горошек, и точечки вообще, а дополнительным условием было сочетание матового и блестящего финиша. К счастью для меня, пески и замшу мы тоже считали за матовые лаки, так что простора для воображения было больше.

Now I have have been a bit carried away by my creativity as well as willingness to recreate a nail art I saw on Instagram the other day, and I completely forgot that polka dot is actually a pattern consisting of dots, so technically my nails aren't exactly polka dot, but I was forgiven. Anyway, I used 3 coats of Dance Legend Steel Panther, a bright scattered silver holo (review coming soon), as my base color, topped it with a coat of Seche Vite and dotted on top of everything with Zoya London, Nyx and Godiva. Pretty simple, but I love the outcome! I'd better double check on the theme next time, though, 'cause I feel awkward for 'violating' it this time :D 

Так уж получилось, что меня слегка "понесло" в плане креатива, а из головы никак не шел маникюр, который я недавно подглядела в Инстаграме, и я совершенно забыла, что технически polka dot - это классический узор в горошек, а не просто какой-то узор из точечек, так что вообще-то мой маникюр немножечко не соответствует теме, но меня простили :) В дизайне я использовала 3 слоя Dance Legend Steel Panther, яркого серебряного рассеянного голографика, в качеств базового цвета, покрыла его слоем сушки Seche Vite, а поверх доттером нанесла узор из лаков Zoya London, Nyx и Godiva. Довольно просто, но результат меня радует. Хотя в следующий раз я два раза перепроверю тему, потому что мне немного неловко перед девочками за мое , пусть и непреднамеренное, небольшое нарушение правил :D

The Lazy 15! Dots

Today we're doing manicures involving dots! I've been wanting to do a manicure that would match my blog design for a while now, and my background happens to be dotty, so I didn't think long today :)

Тема сегодняшнего дня в Lazy 15! challenge - точки. Я, ко всему прочему, давно хотела сделать маникюр, который сочетался бы с дизайном моего блога, так что тут долго думать не пришлось :)

For this manicure I used:

-Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Himalayan Blue - 2 coats (2 слоя)

-Revlon Sunshine Sparkle - dotted each dots twice (проходилась по одной точке 2 раза) 

-a dotter доттер

I'm quite fond of this manicure, it's very girl-ish, and I like how the colors work together, but the blue doesn't quite match the actual blue of my backgroud. I should have picked something dustier and green-leaning.

В целом, я довольна маникюром, но если бы я его переделывала, то подобрала бы другой синий лак, поскольку этот не совсем точно отображает тот синий, что я использую на фоне. Лак должен быть более припыленным и иметь больше зелени в пигменте. 

Chaotic dotticure: Zoya Tru and Orly Oui

This is my second attempt at participating in a nail art contest, this time for Polish days. This September's theme is Geometry, and i actually had a completely different idea in mind, but i didn't have much time yesterday, so i needed something quicker.

As i was terrible at geometry in school, i thought that something messy, in no particular order would suit me. So i painted my nails with Zoya Tru, a gorgeous purple with subtle copperish shimmer flecks, and dotted randomly with Orly Oui. 

Polish and money tree - more money, more polish! :D
