China Glaze Off Shore select shades swatches and review

I was unable to post for several days, for which I'm very sorry. I'm not the one to share personal details on my blog, especially when they're not happy ones, as this is not why you read my blog, so just believe me when I say I had my reasons. But I reminded my myself that the show must go on, and so will I. Here's my review of 6 shades from the newest Summer collection by China Glaze called Off shore kindly provided for review.

Fridails: Tribal print

Tribal print was supposed to be done back at the end of February-beginning of March, put we decided to put it off until warmer temperatures, as all of us perceived this design as something summer-y. And now the time has come!

China Glaze Sun Of A Peach swatches and review

China Glaze Sunsational collection for Summer 2013 ignited much controversary in the nail blogging world. On the one hand, pretty neon colors caught one's eye and a lot of shades seemes pretty unique (neon pastels? I'm in! Bright jellies? I'm SO in!). China Glaze had me at press releases, but when I read reviewed I sort of decided to put buying them on hold. 4 coats of a polish just didn't call to me. But when I was to choose 3 colors to review, I thought, "when if not now"? 

Летняя коллекция 2013 года China Glaze Sunsational породила целую дискуссию в блогосфере. С одной стороны, привлекали и радовали глаз яркие и при этом пастельные, разбеленные неоны, яркие желешки. Увидев пресс-релиз, я морально приготовилась, что сейчас я буду брать коллекцию целиком. А потом начали появляться обзоры, и я попридержала коней. Перспектива 4 слоев лака как-то не вдохновляла. Но вот я выбирала оттенки за обзор и подумала: "когда, если не сейчас?"

Fridails: Valentine's Day

This week's choice of theme for Fridails was pretty obvious...while some of us are single and are not celebrating this year, V-day is everywhere and we couldn't ignore it. What we could do, though, is have an alternative take on it. Valentine's doesn't have to be just about love to one's second half and hearts and pinks and reds? 

So here's my confession: I love a lot of things about life. I love Batman, photography, dogs (especially my dear 3-yo labrador Maurice...if only he was human :D) and a glass of wine. And, of course, I love nail art, brights and pastels. All of these things were reflected in my nails for this week's Fridails. The base color is 4 coats of China Glaze Sun Of A Peach* (full review coming soon), and I stamped over it with Kiko 389, a bright yet pastel mint creme (of course, it came out not as saturated as it's actually is, but that's what one's come to expect of stamping with a light color over a neon, albeit pastel as well), and MoYou London Pro 06 stamping plate*. I sealed the finished look with a coat of Eva Glass Shine top coat. 

Also, please welcome my right aka cinderella hand, who's going to act as the model hand while my left one is dealing with her issues (read: some really bad nail break, I even had to round them :( )

Выбор темы этой недели для Fridails был очевиден...хотя кто-то из нас одинок и не празднует Валентинов день, он повсюду, и проигнорировать его совсем невозможно. Но что мы могли сделать, так посмотреть на него с альтернативного угла. Ведь ДСВ не обязательно должен быть только про любовь ко второй половинке, сердечки и красно-розовую гамму? 

Так вот мое признание: я люблю многое в этой жизни. Люблю Бэтмена, фотографировать, собак (особенно моего дорогого трехлетнего лабрадора Мориса) и бокал вина. И, конечно, нейл-арт, яркие цвета, а также и пастельные тона. Все это нашло отражение в моем маникюре для этой недели. Базовым цветом послужил China Glaze Sun Of A Peach* (в 4 слоя), а поверх я сделала стемпинг с помощью Kiko 389, яркой мятной пастели (естественно, в стемпинге он вышел совсем не того цвета, как если бы я использовала его в качестве самостоятельного покрытия), и плитки для стемпинга MoYou London Pro 06*. Дизайн я закрепила слоем сушки Eva Glass Shine. 

А также попрошу поприветствовать "рабочую", она же правая, руку, которая будет играть роль руки-модели, пока левая разбирается со своими тарканами (читать: кошмарно поломавшимися ногтями, до такой степени, что ногтя пришлось сделать совсем круглыми :( )

China Glaze Creative Fantasy swatches and review

China Glaze Creative Fantasy came out in Cirque Du Soleil: Worlds Away collection among 11 other colors. Creative Fantasy is a bright eggplant purple jelly, extremely squishy, especially after top coat is applied: the purple pigment, apparently, is neon, thus natural finish of the polish is semi-matte. Formula was excellent, I needed 3 easy peasy coats to reach opacity with just a tiny bit of VNL peeking through the color on the photos, but invisible in real life; once on nails, Creative Fantasy dries quickly. On the photos one can notice slight brushstrokes on middle finger - please blame the topcoat, not the polish itself.

China Glaze Creative Fantasy вышел в коллекции Cirque Du Soleil: Worlds Away среди 11 других оттенков. Creative Fantasy - это яркое баклажановое желе, после нанесения топа обретающее тот самый неповторимый блеск, за который многие и любят эту текстуру. Родной финиш у лака полуматовый, поскольку, очевидно, фиолетовый пигмент - неоновый.  Обладает прекрасной формулой, для почти полной непрозрачности, когда линия улыбки лишь слегка проглядывает сквозь цвет на фотографиях, мне понадобилось 3 беспроблемных слоя. На ногте высыхает быстро. На фотографиях на среднем пальце видны следы от кисти - это вина топа, а не самого лака. 

Fridails: Neon Holo Water Marble

Fridails time! And the post is scheduled, I'll be flying to Sri Lanka when it gets posted :3 

So a 31DC theme this week...the dreade, yes you got it right, Water Marble. Last time I tried doing it, I failed miserably. Today, however, it occured to me thatI have 2 spare bottles of distilled water, which may work better than tap water. And ih it did! The polish spread evenly and nicely, I got neat bulleyes and managed to do the accent nails at first try! Doing all 10 was too much for me, as I did these in past midnight, I was really too tired. Now that it seems that I've found the key to marbling, I hope to practice the technique more, on all of my nails.

The polishes I used for this manicure were Different Dimension Ditz (neon pink), Homeboy (bright azure blue) and Whatever (grape bubblegum violet), which all are neon scattered holos from the 80's collection by DD from last year. I marbled over an undie of 2 coats of Essie Blanc, and the rest of the nails are painted with 2 coats of a respective shade.

I'm so glad I'm travelling wearing such a bright nail art! I think it fits the warm weather, the ocean, everything about Sri Lanka perfectly.

Итак, тема этой недели происходит из флэшмоба 31DC...Самая страшная тема, великий и ужасный, да-да, это мраморный маникюр. В последний раз, когда я пыталась его сделать, я с треском провалилась. Но сегодня до меня дошло, что у меня же стоит 2 бутылки дистиллированной воды, с которой дело тут же пошло на лад. Лаки послушно распределялись по воде, цветочек рисовался успешно, и акцентные ногти я сделала с первого раза. Полностью покрыть все ногти дизайном в этой технике в этот раз было выше меня: дело было в ночи, я очень хотела спать. Но теперь, когда я, кажется, нашла лайфхак, с которым эта техника становится в разы проще, надеюсь еще не раз ее использовать - на всех ногтях. 

В главных ролях: рассеянные голографики Different Dimension Ditz (неоновый розовый), Homeboy (яркий лазурно-голубой) and Whatever (цвета виноградной жвачки). Марблинг я делаа поверх 2 слоев Essie Blanc, а остальные ногти просто покрыла 2 слоями соответствующего оттенка. 

Я очень рада, что в теплую Шри Ланку лечу с таким праздником на ногтях: мне кажется, он прекрасно сочетается с теплой погодой, океаном, в общем, всеми характеристиками субтропического климата, так милого моему сердцу :3

31 days challenge. Day 2: orange nails

Hi everyone :)

As it's rainy and cloude in Moscow these days, i wanted something really bright on my nails. And then i remembered i had this awesome in terms of color but terrible, as all neons, in terms of application polish, China Glaze Sun Worshipper, or a Zoroastrian, as i like to call it :D Check out the article on Zoroastrianism on Wikipedia to find out why.

It's the second time i've used it. When i was painting my nails for the first time, i didn't even know it was a neon. I thought it was something i'd hoped Papaya Punch would be - a nice mango orange bordering yellow. It is, actually, but it's neon, not a creme.

Still, i love it. This time i layered it over a plain white creme (Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On), i used 2 coats of Sun Worshipper and, to be completely honest, it could use a third one. As neons dry semi-matte, i topped it with a coat of INM OTD (but i do it all the time, i never wear nail polish without top coat).

The quality of the photos isn't the best today, i'm very sorry, it's getting dark sooner and sooner. Sigh. Summer, could you please come back? I could even sacrifice my birthday that is on 19th.
