Today I'm showing you the first polish I've received for review from an aamerican indie brand Darling Diva Polish (DDP). Carrie, the founder of the brand, does some fantastic holos (she's also the mastermind behind the famous Max Factor Fantasy Fire indie dupe, DDP Ringer) as well as glitters, shimmers and even termos and glow in the darks - the polish I'm talking about here is one!

Not long ago, Darling Diva Polish has released a collection of polishes named after and inspired by Madonna's songs. DDP Lucky Star is a part of the collection and is a mix of neon lime and black star glitter as well as pink neon square glitter of 2 sizes in a milky white, glow-in-the-dark jelly base. Application was fine, you do have to be careful with it, since you may end up with patches due to the jelly nature of the base, bu that's characteristic of any jelly, so nothing extraordinary here. If you want to have more control of where the stars go, you may want to fish for them and place them with the brush, but overall they come out of the bottle and onto the brush pretty well on their own. If you feel like more stars, just give the bottle a couple of shakes. I would also recommend avoiding getting neon lime stars on the nails at the first coat, and here's why. The base requires 3 good coats to reach opacity (with slightest visible nail line), so you're going to end up with 2 coats of milky white over the lime stars, which will make them almost insivible. Or you can start with a jelly/crelly/creme white undie (depending on whether you want the squishy feeling as you've finished your mani), then the number of coats of Lucky Star you apply comes down to how much glitter you want on the nails.

DDP Lucky Star - один из ее представителей, представляет собой молочно-белое желе, светящееся в темноте, а в нем глиттер-звездочки двух цветов, черного и неонового лаймового, и неоновых розовых квадратиков двух размеров. С нанесением стоит быть поаккуратнее - желейная основа в принципе склонна к плешивости, ничего необычного здесь нет, но в целом лак довольно послушный. Если хотите контролировать расположение звездочек на ногтях, то можно его вылавливать кисточкой, но и сам он попадается довольно регулярно. Хотите больше глиттера - пару раз встряхните бутылек, а перед покрасом на несколько минут поставьте вниз головой. Я бы советовала не допускать появления лаймовых звезд на первом слое, и вот почему. Базовому цвету необходимо 3 слоя для относительной непрозрачности (линия улыбки все равно чуть-чуть угадывается через покрытие), так что поверх звездочек в таком случае будет лежать 2 молочных слоя, которые делают их почти невидимыми. Или же вы можете нанести Lucky Star на белую подложку, кремовую, крелли или желейную, тогда число слоев будет зависеть от того, как много глиттера вы хотите видеть на ногтях.
I used to be quite indifferent to shaped glitter, but this polish has changed my mind drastically. Now I can't get enough of stars, and Lucky Star has surely become one of the brightest stars of my nail polish stash :)
